When God Warned Me in a Dream (And I Slept Through It)

Souls were lost. A lion was waiting. The enemy devoured. This wasn’t just a dream.
God still gives dreams. Some are encouragement. Some are correction. And then… some are warning dreams. Dreams that don’t let you shake them off. Dreams that feel more real than life. And if we’re not careful, we miss what He’s trying to say—because we’re asleep. Literally and spiritually.
I’ve heard people like Jennifer Eivaz teach on this—how God gives these dreams to protect, redirect, and wake us up. Not to scare us, but to bring us into the fight before it’s too late. And now I know that firsthand.
Because I had one of those dreams. And I still haven’t forgotten it.
The Dream
In the dream, I was asleep in my bed—minding my own business—and something launched me up into the air. I’m flying, not in control, and suddenly my pet dog jumps up and breaks its foot. I knew I had to take it to the vet. That part made sense. You take care of what’s hurt. You get healing where it’s needed.
But while I’m dealing with that, a starving tiger shows up and tears through the town. I tried to get back to the dog, but it wasn’t a dog anymore—it was a lion. It had changed.
I wanted to reach it. I wanted to get to it. But I couldn’t.
Then I tried to save people. I only got to a few. The rest—they died. The tiger devoured them.
I woke up wrecked. I knew this wasn’t just a “wild dream.” This was spiritual.
The Interpretation (What God Showed Me)
The dog? That was the Holy Spirit. Think about it: loyal, close, man’s best friend. But we treat Him casual sometimes. We break Him off when we ignore Him. But He was never just a dog—He’s a Lion. And in my dream, He became one.
But I couldn’t get to Him. Because I was trying to fix things after it already went bad.
And that starving tiger? That was the enemy. The thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Hungry, waiting for an open door. And I had been asleep—literally in the dream, but also spiritually in real life.
It reminded me of when Jesus asked the disciples to stay awake and pray, and they kept falling asleep. He told them, “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)
That’s what was happening to me.
What Jennifer Eivaz Teaches Lines Up With This
Jennifer talks about prophetic warning dreams—how God will show us what’s coming, not to scare us, but so we can shift it in prayer. She says:
“God reveals to redeem. He gives dreams to intercept the plans of the enemy before they happen.”
That’s exactly what I felt. This dream wasn’t about fear. It was about urgency. About the cost of falling asleep. About how souls are at stake, and if we don’t pray and stay sensitive to the Spirit, we might wake up after the damage is already done.
I didn’t get to my lion. I only saved a couple people. And the rest… I still carry the weight of that in my spirit.
What To Do If God Gives You a Dream
You might be having dreams like this and not know what to do with them. Let me break it down how Jennifer Eivaz teaches it (and how I’m learning myself):
1.
Write it down.
Don’t just say “that was wild” and move on. Write every detail. Colors, people, places. Even the weird stuff. Symbolism matters.
2.
Ask the Holy Spirit.
Dream dictionaries won’t cut it. Ask Him:
“What are You saying? What do I do with this?”
Sometimes He’ll tell you right away. Sometimes He’ll show you later.
3.
Discern the source.
Not every dream is from God. Some are from the soul. Some from the enemy. But when it’s from God, you’ll feel it. It’ll sit with you. And it’ll usually call you to action—pray, repent, warn someone, fast.
4.
Use Scripture.
Symbols in dreams often match things in the Bible. Lions, snakes, storms, water—God speaks in pictures, but He gives us His Word to interpret them.
5.
Don’t just sit on it.
If you know it’s from God—do something. Intercede. Wake up spiritually. Be obedient. Don’t say “that was deep” and go back to sleep.
My Dream Still Preaches
This dream preaches to me every time I think about it. I don’t want to be the one trying to fix things after the enemy has already taken ground. I don’t want to wake up one day and realize I could have interceded and didn’t.
Here’s what I learned:
The Holy Spirit is near, but He’s not to be taken lightly.
The enemy is hungry, and he moves when we’re spiritually asleep.
Some people won’t make it unless we wake up and pray.
Warning dreams are mercies in disguise.
Are You Asleep or Awake?
That’s the question God asked me through this dream. Am I alert in the Spirit? Or am I just comfortable, distracted, doing life?
If you’ve been asleep—it’s time to wake up. Start praying again. Fast. Press into the Spirit. Don’t ignore your dreams. God could be showing you something bigger than you realize.
Tomorrow isn’t promised. And souls are on the line.
Final Thought:
Don’t miss your Lion.
Don’t wait till the tiger shows up.
The Spirit is speaking—even while you sleep.
Write the dream down. Pray into it. Don’t shake it off.
Because sometimes what looks like just a dream is really a warning from heaven.
