It Didn’t Start With Me— Breaking Generational Curses and Bloodline Temptation

I remember being young—so young that I didn’t even know what lust was. No one had ever shown me pornography, no one had touched me, no one said a word to me about anything sexual. But I still found myself pressing my private parts against the floor. I didn’t understand why. I just felt something driving me, and it seemed to come out of nowhere.
Looking back, I realize that it wasn’t just curiosity. It wasn’t normal childhood behavior. It wasn’t something I saw or learned. It was spiritual.
Temptation is real—we all face it. The enemy roams around looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8), and temptation comes to every person, saved or unsaved. But there’s a difference when the temptation is tied to your bloodline. When no one before you deals with the spirit behind the sin, you don’t just face temptation—you face a familiar spirit, one that has legal ground through generational access.
It’s Not in Your Genes—It’s in Your Spiritual Bloodline
A lot of people like to say addiction or lust runs in their family—like it’s something in their DNA. But here’s the truth: science still hasn’t found a “gene” for addiction. Why? Because it’s not genetic—it’s spiritual.
What shows up in your life early, without explanation, and with intensity is often not just your flesh acting up. It’s a spirit that’s been waiting for a moment to reattach to the next generation. And if no one stands up to break it, it continues.
Jennifer Eivaz teaches on this with clarity and authority. She says:
“Uncovering the hidden dynamics of generational strongholds, familiar spirits, and the impact of corrupted bloodlines… you’ll discover how to destroy generational curses and strongholds… and shift the destiny of your family.”
— Jennifer Eivaz, You Are a Cursebreaker
What wasn’t broken before you is now trying to break you. But here’s the good news: you don’t have to accept it.
My Story, and Maybe Yours Too
That moment on the floor wasn’t random. It was a spiritual signal. Something that had not been dealt with in my family line came knocking on my door early. And because no one told me what it was—or how to fight it—I didn’t resist. I didn’t even know I needed to.
And maybe that’s been your story too. You’ve wrestled with desires that you didn’t ask for. You’ve felt shame about temptations that never made sense. Or maybe you’ve told yourself you were just “born this way.”
But you weren’t born that way. You were born into a battle that your parents and grandparents never fought.
And now, it’s your turn.
You Can Break It
Jennifer Eivaz emphasizes that you’re not just dealing with bad habits—you’re dealing with spirits. Generational curses don’t just end with time. They end with confrontation. They end when someone stands in the gap and says, “It stops with me.”
Here’s how to begin:
Identify the pattern in your family (lust, addiction, divorce, perversion, shame, fear, etc.)
Repent of anything you personally participated in—even unknowingly
Renounce the spirit: “In Jesus’ name, I break every generational agreement with this spirit.”
Replace the lie with truth: “I have the mind of Christ. I am a new creation.”
Rebuild by walking daily in the Word and Spirit, not the patterns of your past
A Prayer to Break the Bloodline
“Father, I bring my bloodline before You. In Jesus’ name, I break every generational curse, every familiar spirit that has tried to pass through my family. I renounce every agreement—spoken or unspoken—that was made with sin, lust, shame, or addiction. I repent for anything I’ve done knowingly or unknowingly. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse my spiritual bloodline. From this day forward, I declare that I am free—and the curse is broken. Amen.”
Final Thoughts
Temptation is real—but temptation tied to a bloodline is deeper. It comes earlier, stronger, and often without explanation. But what you don’t defeat will try to defeat you. And what you don’t confront, your children may inherit.
But you weren’t just born to survive it. You were born to break it.
You are not the curse.
You are the curse breaker.
Let it stop with you—and let the blessing begin.
